East Rutherford, NJ– The Meadowlands is announcing a mandatory meeting for all harness racing drivers competing at the track on the weekend of July 16 & 17. It will be held in the Paddock Driver’s Lounge at 5:30pm sharp on Friday, July 16.
“We want to discuss the unfavorable comments we have received from our customers regarding the lack of competitiveness in many of the races. I’d like to talk about how we might improve the product, especially considering we are going to show some of the races on national TV (America’s Day At The Races on Fox Sports2) on Pace night,” said Meadowlands President Jeff Gural. “The idea is to do some things differently, evaluate the results during the break between the Hambletonian and when we reopen on September 3 and decide if in fact these changes helped or hurt.
āOur goal is to have the best standardbred racing product in the world, as it is our belief that we have the finest drivers in the world competing at The Meadowlands.ā
Drivers currently racing at other venues who may plan to be in for stakes over the next month and would like to be connected remotely should contact Jason Settlemoir jsettlemoir@playmeadowlands.com.
