Menangle Park harness racing Jarrod Alchin holds the key to Saturday night’s $150,000 Group 1 Breeders Challenge final for the two-year-old boys at Menangle.
Alchin has the two favourites with My Ultimate Byron and My Ultimate Ronnie and it is the first time the stablemates will clash in race conditions.

The question is, how fast will they go?
My Ultimate Byron, to be driven by Cameron Hart, is unbeaten in seven starts and rated 1:50.9 last start.
Meanwhile, My Ultimate Ronnie, to be driven by Chris Geary, has won four of his six starts and stamped himself as Australia’s fastest two-year-old this season when winning his semi-final in a mile rate of 1:50.4.
And he could have gone faster according to Hart.
“If I let him go he could have broken 1:50 . . . he won with his earplugs in,” said Hart after the success.
Alchin has also stated: “I’m positive they are both capable of breaking 1:50 if they have to but only if they have to.”
That final is set for 8:14pm AEDT. The first of the Breeders Challenge Finals gets underway at 7:40pm.
