Scuola Hanover was an impressive harness racing winner in the $20,000 Mares Winners Over/Select Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday night.
Moments of Joy and Sunny Dee both left alertly and settled in near the quarter pole. Scuola Hanover and driver Art Stafford Jr. were parked to the quarter in :27.
Sunny Dee retreated to the pocket and Moments Of Joy settled into the three spot. As the dust settled, it was all Scuola Hanover. She set fractions of :27, :56.1 (29.1) then she turned on the burners blasting the third quarter in 1:23.2. She paced the third quarter in 27.1.
The even odds race favorite, Major Occasion A and driver Tim Tetrick moved first-over down the backstretch but stalled nearing the three quarters. Lovely Donna shadowed her second-over but stalled on the rim.
Sunny Dee and Moments of Joy both tried in vain to close but came up empty in the stretch. Scuola Hanover drew off from the field and won by two and a quarter length in 1:51. She paid $7.40 for the victory.

Scuola Hanover was able to take advantage of the mild 46-degree temperatures and paced her last half in 54.4.
