Group winner by Warrawee Needy

Talented Warrawee Needy mare Im So Needy notched her fourth win on end and hoisted a new lifetime mark of 1:54.1 when she won harness racing’s Group 3 $30,000 Go Girlfriend Final at Menangle on Saturday night (March 19).

After working to the front at the end of the first quarter, Im So Needy was steadied in the middle stages before ripping home in 26.3 seconds to leave her rivals struggling in her wake.

It was fifth success from nine starts this season.

Warrawee Needy, a former world champion now standing at Yirribee Pacing Stud, also sired a quartet of winners in North America this week. They included Need Ur Opinion (1:51.4, Rosecroft Raceway), Needless To Say (1:53.6, Pocono Downs), Heresthatmanagain (1:55.6, Woodbine Mohawk Park) and Ajknight (1:58.4, Flamboro Downs).

Renaissance Man’s son Arma Einstein sent his stake earnings above the $100,000 plateau when he led from end-to-end in a career-best 1:54.9 over 1730 metres.

Former NZ 4YO of the Year Tintin In America led in two winners at The Meadowlands, New Jersey in God’s Spirit NZ (1:51.2) and Nimah Franco NZ (1:52.6) and the Northam (WA) winner Cavalry Call.

Million Dollar Cam, the thrice NSW Sire of the Year, was represented by the Canadian winner Pat McGarry (1:57) and the Australian winners Dollarbill and Dollarsign.

While the North America Cup winner Fear The Dragon sired another winner from his first northern hemisphere crop in the three-year-old The Mad King, a 1:56.8 winner at Miami Valley Raceway, Ohio.
