Brilliant two-year-old filly Saveeon became harness racing’s second NSW Breeders Challenge heat winner this season sired by Warrawee Needy when she soundly trounced her rivals at Bathurst.
Sent straight to the top, Saveeon was never in danger of defeat, scoring by 11.3 metres at a career-best 1:55.5 rate over 1730 metres. She clocked a flying 56.2 seconds for the final 800.Ā
It was her third success.Ā
Warrawee Needy, the former world champion, was also represented by the three-year-old filly Warrawee Flyer, a winner in 1:56.4 at Newcastle.
Warrawee Needy has sired 40 individual winners from 60 starters.
Former Kiwi star Tintin In America sired a pair of three-year-old winners this week in Metallica Man, a winner in 1:58.5 at Young, and Zaraās A Treasure (Redcliffe).Ā
Meanwhile, the North America Cup hero Fear The Dragon led in the fast three-year-old winners in America in The Iron Throne (1:55.4) and Odds On Delta (1:56.6).Ā
Fear The Dragonās three-year-olds have earned a healthy $1.4 million in 2022.Ā
Warrawee Needy, Tintin In America and Fear The Dragon are part of the sire roster at the new Wingate Farm, Wagga, of leading breeder Jake Stockton.
