The Locomotive (Muscle Mass) won his fifth harness racing race in a row tonight at Tabcorp Park Melton, when he was victorious in the $100,000 Group One Vicbred Super Series trot final for 2yo Colts and Geldings.
Despite a bad check with around 800m to go, The Locomotive managed to loop the field wide on the track and go on to win handsomely, beating Watts Up Partytime by 1.1 metres with 3.7 metres away to Stevie Gee in third.
“I always thought I had the fastest horse in the race,” driver Nathan Jack said after the race.
The mile rate for the winner was 2:00.3 for the 2240m mobile event, with Nathan Jack doing the driving for trainer Wayne Potter.
