Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 12:58pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Cappaha (11) Drop in class here from previous run. Not the worst in this field. Include
Tilthesunsets (10) Good beginner and should race handy. Can stick on for a top three
Sandfly Bay (15) Two good runs her first two starts. In good form for this. Needed

Race 2

Light Up The Fire (11) Has been unlucky and well placed here. Top selection in this
Rose Noire (7) Has not had the best of runs but has some speed. Might pop up here
Inspired (6) Drawn well and better than the form suggests. Can surprise with luck

Race 3

Kiwi Hero (7) Ok last start and better on grit. Hard to beat if he goes forward in this
Vulunteer (2) Big upgrade in draws for this. Should race handy and can go close here
Pacific Clipper (6) Has a bit of speed and big track suits. Place hope at longer odds

Race 4

Tower Of Love (7) Even field and wide draw but he will go forward. Top three chance
Opawa Louie (2) Hasn’t had the best of luck but has won in similar conditions here before.
Millwood Melody (4) Good draw and a place chance with luck. One for longer odds

Race 5

MM Sunshine (6)  Freshened and short distance will suit. Good chance with manners
Rachmaninov (1) One paced but has the draw and will race handy. Looks a top three hope
Wynberg Watch (9) Big track suits and he has run some quick sectionals here in the past

Race 6

Foveaux Gambler (5) Drawn ok and might go forward early here. Include at longer odds
Tempo Warrior (6) Will race handy and likes to lead. Can run top three if left alone in front
Evangalist (14) Quick mare who has a tricky draw. Winning claims with a cart into the race

Race 7

Vinke B (7) Not sure stand will suit but should go close if he steps cleanly. Top selection
Borrisokane (2) Good draw and worked too hard last start. Can run into the placings
Secret Delight (8) Ok at recent trials. Looks stronger this time in and has top three claims

Race 8

Test The Boundaries (4) Top driver booked and he races well on the track. Winning claims
Maui (8) Out of form but good enough to get a slice of the money here with luck in transit. 
Bennie And The Jets (1) Out of form but can pop up if he brings his A-game. Include.  

Race 9

Wild Willow (7) Wide draw but has a reputation. Will go close in this field. Needed
Ohoka Le Bron (6) Getting better with racing and good at trials. Should run top two
Double Down (5) Should get a run through early. Will not be disgraced in this field. Include
