Almost at the completion of his first full harness racing season in the sulky, Brodie Davis will be out to add to his 20 wins this season with three drives in Burnie on Friday night (Dec 15).

Davis’ drives are in the three feature races, the $12,000 Liza Storm for the maidens, and in both heats of the North West Plate.
Lightly raced three-year-old filly Bling On Niadh (Bling It On) is the Davis drive in the Liza Storm (2180m).
The daughter of Bling It On has had three starts and will appreciate a drop in class after contesting a heat of the Bandbox at her most recent start.
“It’s a fair drop on what she raced that night.
“She goes forward out of the gate, so hopefully, we can get somewhere close. She will need some luck, and if they keep rolling along, hopefully, she can be in the finish,” said Davis.
The filly won a trial in slow time at Burnie on Monday night by 3.5m.
“She went around alright. We didn’t go overly quick and gave her a confidence run. She does have some ability there. It’s just in her head and her manners at the moment,” the driver said.
The race is named after Liza Storm, the dam of 1989 Inter Dominion winner Thorate.
Brodie will drive a horse in each heat of the North West Plate (2180m) for his father, Steve.
Major Davvin will line up from outside the front row in the first heat (race four) as he chases his fourth win of the season.
“Hopefully, we can go forward and either lob on top or end up in the death again, so hopefully, we can run them along and be there at the finish.
In heat two (race six), Brodie drives 10m handicap winner Bold Centurian, who won at $20 in Burnie two starts ago.
“We will need a fair bit of luck from where we are drawn.
“Hopefully, they run along and the gaps go our way and we have the last crack at them,” said Brodie.
The North West Plate Final will be held at the B.H.R.C’s next race meeting on Wednesday, 27 December.
Friday’s eight-race card can be seen on TasracingTV and Sky Racing 2 from 17:48.
