We have another competitive mid week harness racing card at Northfield Park: “Home of the flying turns” tonight.
Here is my full analysis of the 15-race card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Good Luck with your plays.
Best Bet – (4) TIMEOUT FITZ – Race 7
Spot Play – (3) BUCKEYE BOY – Race 9
$1 Pick 4 – Race 2 – 4/134/178/3 = $9
$1 Pick 5 – Race 6 – 126/4/259/3/369 = $27
$10,000 Guaranteed Pool $1 Pick 4 – Race 11 – 2359/568/23/6 = $24
Race 1 – 1-6-2-3-9
(1) JOLENE KAY comes off a good effort and she gets out of the second tier now and draws best. She is he clear choice to top the Super High-5.
Race 2 – 4-5-1-2
(4) BACK DOOR MAN got Merriman in the bike and crushed. This isn’t the toughest step up and he gets the nod to repeat.
Race 3 – 4-3-1-5
I don’t love anything in here but (4) DANDY’S WORLD is the only three-time winner and he comes out of the fastest race so he gets the nod.
Race 4 – 1-8-7-2
(1) JOLLY RANCHER gets post advantage on his main rivals here and he should have a big shot vs. these starting from the rail.
Race 5 – 3-2-1-7
(3) PAVED THE WAY comes off a good effort at this level and he draws better tonight. I can see him leading all the way here.
Race 6 – 1-6-2-8
It’s reasonable to assume something was amiss with (1) MIGHTY BREEZE last time because he dosen’t typically lose by more than 48 lengths. He was a winner in this class three starts back and he gets the nod starting from the rail.
Race 7 – 4-1-2-3
(4) TIMEOUT FITZ is on a tremendous roll and he will be everyone’s single in this Pick 5. I’d love to try to beat him but it’s near impossible to imagine him getting beat.
Race 8 – 5-2-9-1
(5) MAJESTIC J looks best of a mediocre lot in this spot and he gets the nod by default.
Race 9 – 3-9-1-8
(3) BUCKEYE BOY faces easier, draws better and he gets the call to upset and add some value to the Pick 5.
Race 10 – 6-3-9-7
Tough race here. I’ll side with (6) SHAKE YOUR PAMPER, who comes in off two solid efforts and has the gate speed to overcome a wide post.
Race 11 – 5-2-3-9
(5) RULE OF LAW chased some wicked fractions in his comeback race at The Meadows and he should have a good chance in this field making his second start back.
Race 12 – 8-5-6-1
(8) BRIGHT EXPECTATION got Merriman and he made an early move from post 9 then jogged. I like him to repeat here despite the wide draw.
Race 13 – 2-3-6-5-1
(2) POUND SIGN gets both post and class relief tonight and he is sure to get a more aggressive steer in this spot; top call.
Race 14 – 6-5-1-2
(6) PASSIONATE PROMISE went a long mile last week and still won, beating some of tonight’s rivals. She gets the call to repeat.
Race 15 – 2-3-4-9
(2) FIELD TESTED adds Lasix, drops and likely pops in this spot.
