The 5-2 co-favorite Soft Spot (Nob Hill High, Josh Sutton) won the $26,500 Fillies and Mares harness racing pace at Miami Valley Raceway on Sunday (Mar. 3).
Soft Spot took the early lead, followed closely by Prancing Queen (Chris Page). Racing For Three (Brett Miller) was racing in third as they passed the opening quarter mile in :27.3. From the outside, Amy L (Jeremy Smith) was first-over and looking to challenge Prancing Queen for second. They went by the half mile in :57.
Soft Spot was holding on to the lead as they approached the three-quarter mile in 1:24. Amy L and Prancing Queen continued their battle for second.
Soft Spot got the victory in 1:52.4. Anthem (Kayne Kauffman) followed in second and Prancing Queen got third.

Soft Spot is a 4-year-old mare trained by Walter Haynes Jr for owners Jeff Fought Racing and Brian Carsey. She paid $7.80 to win.
