CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Tobins Brownie (Stonebridge Terror) will look for her second straight harness racing win in the Thursday evening (May 16) Fillies and Mares Preferred at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Capital oval has a nine-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M. featuring the top pacing mares on the Eastern Seaboard in race 8.
Share The Moment (Control the Moment) is the morning line favourite in the $3,700 Race 8 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace from post 1 with Gilles Barrieau in the race bike for trainer Bo Ford and owners Luke Beck, Scott Bridges and Arnold Myers. The lass went down to defeat as the post time favourite in her first outing of the year against Tobins Brownie.
Dr. Mitchell Downey drives The Ideal Huntress from post 2 for trainer Ellen Stevenson. A former claiming mare on the Woodbine circuit, the Huntsville pacer boasts 14 lifetime wins and a mark of 1:50.4.
Chelski was red hot from the Jennifer Doyle barn in 2023 and will make her third start on Thursday after winning her debut on May 4 in this class. Damian MacLellan will drive from post 3.
Tobins Brownie has post 4 after a front-end victory over a sloppy track last week for her 31st lifetime victory for trainer-driver David Dowling.
Rosetown Mary was sharp in her debut swopping the field from last to win for trainer-driver Corey MacPherson and will have post 5 to work from this week.
Ms Moyse rounds out the field from post 6 with Adam Merner in the bike for trainer Melissa Rennie.
The Post Time Picks are going with Rosetown Mary to show her late sprint to the finish and get it all.
“We picked Rosetown Mary to win last week and she delivered big time cruising to victory by four lengths. Bumps up the ladder and can really fly home so she could double up at Red Shores.”
