The Christian Cullen horse Raging Bull, who stands at Kath McIntosh’s Llowalong Farms in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley, is making his mark as a harness racing sire and broodmare sire.
Celestine, a three-year-old filly, completed back-to-back successes at Albion Park earlier this month in 1:56.1 and 1:56.3, while the two-year-old Waikaka Magic notched his first win at his third start at Wyndham (NZ) in 1:55.3.
Raging Bull picked up his first broodmare credit when Better Knuckle Up, a three-year-old out of Raging Bull’s richest daughter Bare Knuckle, took out the inaugural $500,000 The Velocity slot race at Addington on November 15.
Starting from the wide No. 9 gate, Better Knuckle Up settled midfield in the running line. Angled four deep rounding the home turn, the colt let down with a withering finishing burst to relegate Chase A Dream, Harrison John and Jeremiah into the minor placings.
Better Knuckle Up has now won six races with four placings from 14 starts for $279,198 in stakes.
Raging Bull, who was first at the stud in New Zealand, has sired 34 individual winners from restricted stud chances.
Among his stock are the 2022 WA Pacing Cup winner Wildwest ($616,072), Bare Knuckle 1:51.5 (NSW Raith Memorial), the Menangle winner Give Me A Minute (1:52), the Albion Park winners Mi Furioso Toro (1:54.2), Getarattleon and Flame Lady, the good Addington winner Raging Whitebait, the exported Princess Folly (1:52.6), the NZ country cups winner Village Rebel and the three-year-old Knock Out (1:54.3), a winner of three of his five starts in NSW.
In all, Raging Bull has sired the winners of more than $1.8 million in Australasia with an amazing 70 percent winners-to-starters ratio.
Raging Bull’s fresh, chilled semen can be accessed through the Llowalong Farms’ multiple mare discount scheme for a modest $1,000 plus GST. Please contact Llowalong Farms to secure this deal.
