Prix d’Egletons to Dona Nina at Enghien

The trots returned to Enghien on Monday including the Quinte+ Prix d’Egletons (purse 55,000€, 2875 meters, 16 European starters) that went to 21/1 outsider Dona Nina (5f Tucson-Quolombe Winner) with trainer Jarmo Niskanen up.

He is also the breeder/owner of this mare that was clocked ib 1.14.5kr as she recorded her sixth career victory in 24 outings.

The 48/1 Une Etoile Gar (5f Varenne) held second for Ferd Minopoli and trainer Salvatore Minopoli. 27/1 Deux Etoiles Gede (5f Roc Meslois) took third for Eric Raffin and trainer/owner Alexandre Pillon.

The top five were completed byurth finishing 5.7/1 Dame Denfert (5f Quiton de Chatelet) and 15/1 Demoiselle Mika (5f Royal Dream). The Q+ payoff for a 2€ play was 148,164.60€, illustrating the impact of big fields, longer distance racing and large wagering pools.

On the Enghien card was the Prix de Saint Chamond (purse 45,000€, 2150 meters, 16 European starters) with the 1.13.5kr timed victory earned by 3.2/1 odds Alex Trojborg (6g Great Challenger-Karisma DK) reined by Yoann Lebourgeois for trainer Tomas Malmqvist and owner Easy KB.

The 12/1 Caid de Caponet (6g Memphis du Rib) took second for owner/trainer/driver Sebastien Baude, ahead of 19/1 Carioca (6g Jag de Bellouet) that trainer Thomas Levesque teamed for owner Camille Levesque.

Wednesday at Laval will showcase some of the best currently active trotters in France.
