When the three-year-old filly Studleigh Rowsy won at Redcliffe on Thursday (December 23) she became the 19th individual winner from the first crop of the former world mile record holder Warrawee Needy (1:46.8).
The Yirribee Pacing Stud sire has left 19 winners from 47 foals in his initial crop for an impressive 40 percent strike rate.
While Esther Rising, a two-year-old filly, became the seventh individual winner from Warrawee Needyās second crop (23 foals) when she emerged successful in a slick 1:55 at Wagga.
From 70 foals of Warrawee Needyās first two crops he has sired 46 starters for 25 winners and eight placegetters.
Warrawee Needy was also represented by a trio of winners in North America this week in Just Plain Needy (1:53.4), High Flyin Jamie (1:55.8) and the three-year-old filly Needingoffthegrid (1:57.2).
Warrawee Needyās companion sires Renaissance Man and Lombo Pocket Watch both chimed in with important winners.
Renaissance Man sired the Gloucester Park three-year-old winner Arma Einstein (1:55.7), while Lombo Pocket Watch was represented by Lombo Eye Watch, a winner in 1:58.7 at Cobram, and Ifsbutzandmaybes (1:59.9, Hobart).
