There was no change to the top 12 of the final rankings, with the ‘Golden Ticket’ from Friday night’s Sky Racing Navy Cup going to Victorian raider Captain Ravishing, who was already ranked fifth.

Trained by Freddy Taiba and driven by local Reisman Aiden DeCampo, Captain Ravishing brilliantly scored at his first up performance at Gloucester Park. DeCampo is looking for back-to-back WA Pacing Cups after winning last year aboard Magnificent Storm. Captain Ravishing firmed into $3.80 with TABtouch after the victory.

Outstanding four-year-old Mister Smartee is a pronounced favourite with TABtouch at $2.15 after winning the two main lead-up races, the James Brennan Memorial and JP Stratton Cup, both at Group Two level. His Hall of Fame trainer Gary Hall Snr is looking to win a staggering 14th WA Pacing Cup and will also line up Jumpingjackmac ($6) and former Cup winner Diego ($34). Mister Smartee’s driver, Gary Hall Jnr is aiming for a record 10th win in the Grand Circuit event.

The field in alphabetical order is:

Captain Ravishing (Captaintreacherous)

Diego (Bettors Delight)

Jumpingjackmac (Mach Three)

Lavra Joe (Roll With Joe)

Mighty Ronaldo  (Alta Christiano)

Minstrel (Rocknroll Hanover)

Mister Smartee (Always B Miki)

Pinny Tiger  (Mach Three)

Sangue Reale  (Art Major)

Swingband (Alta Christiano)

Tenzing Bromac (Bettors Delight)

Tricky Miki (Always B Miki)

The TABtouch WA Pacing Cup is the feature race on Italian Fireworks Night at Gloucester Park on Friday night with the Group Two $100,000 Norms Daughter Classic for the fillies and mares as the co-feature, which will see an ountstanding field line-up including Steno (if she doesn’t get a start in the Cup), Aardiebytheseaside and Wonderful To Fly who bounced back to winning form on Friday night.

The barrier draw for the Group One $450,000 TABtouch WA Pacing Cup will be conducted on TAB Radio’s The Sports Daily with Tim Walker and Digby Beacham at 8.30am (WA time) Monday Morning.
