Arden’s Horizon (Bettor’s Delight) claimed the biggest win of his harness racing career with a powerful front-running display in the A$30,000 Listed York Cup (2560m) at Northam on Saturday night (Jun. 17).
The NZB Standardbred graduate has been on a winning spree since crossing the Tasman and relocating to Western Australia to join Callan Suvaljko’s stable.
Arden’s Horizon was purchased for $55,000 by Lincoln Farms Bloodstock at the 2020 National Yearling Sale at Christchurch where he was offered by breeder-vendors Arden Lodge.
Lincoln Farms produced the pacer to win in New Zealand before selling him to Australian interests, who he has been a brilliantly consistent performer for.
Arden’s Horizon has clearly thrived under Suvaljko’s care, with the horse’s confidence levels continuing to rise.
“He had just kept improving with one-on-one attention, and racing through the country has given him so much confidence,” Suvaljko told Australian media.
After building excellent recent form, Arden’s Horizon added black type to his impressive resume with his strong staying performance in the York Cup.
Suvaljko speared Arden’s Horizon to an early lead in the Listed feature and he proved far too tough for his rivals to catch.
