The stock of the Art Major horse Follow The Stars, who is standing at Darren Reay’s Medowie Lodge near Newcastle, have topped the $3 million mark from only four racing crops.

The former NZ and Australian 2YO Colt of the Year, Follow The Stars has been among the top bracket of juvenile sires every year since his first crop raced in the 2018/19 season.

To date he has sired 99 individual winners from 157 starters and they averaged almost $20,000 in stake earnings.

Of his first crop of 60 foals, 39 have raced and 33 are winners including the WA Country Derby winner Aristocratic Star ($102,703), the multiple Group placegetter Star Fromthepalace ($113,365), The Stars Above and Star Of The Class.

Undoubtedly the dux of the class of 2017 has been the glamour racemare Black Jack Baby, a winner of 14 races and $211,651 including the Group 1 Westbred 2YO Classic. Others from Follow The Stars’ second crop have been Robbie Rocket ($95,634), Star Of Willoughby ($83,536) and the Group placegetters Chance Eclipse and Per Ardua Ad Astra.

Bushwacked (WA Champagne Classic), Follow The Music (Westsired 2YO Classic) and the Group placegetter See The World have been other winners from Follow The Stars’ early crops.

The current two-year-old crop of Follow The Stars includes the Westsired Classic winner Indomitable Symbol, while among his three-year-olds are the Gloucester Park winners Sonic Suzy, Cullen Star and Lillyrose.
