Follow The Stars, the former New Zealand and Australian 2YO of the Year, who is now standing at the Medowie Lodge stud, near Newcastle, of Darren Reay, has bounded to the forefront on the Australian sires’ list.
From only three crops of racing age, the son of Art Major has already sired the winners of $1.93 million in stakemoney including almost $830,000 in progeny earnings this season.
Follow The Stars is currently the highest ranked NSW based sire of two and three-year-olds in every category, while his daughter Black Jack Baby ($100,931) is the richest three-year-old filly in WA this season.
During the past fortnight Follow The Stars has left no less than nine individual winners with winning doubles at Northam, Narrogin and Central Wheatbelt.
The three-year-old filly Silver Star Lombo, who has won three of her last four starts, and Star Of The Class emerged successful at Northam, the three-year-old Allwood Wizard and debutant Military Star scored at Narrogin, while the three-year-old Flash Mob and Fiord both won at Central Wheatbelt.
Other recent Follow The Stars’ winners have been Our Glowing Star, a three-year-old filly who scored at Gloucester Park and Northam in the space of four days, Mollidor, a double winner at Tamworth, and Royal Order, who notched her third success at Northam.
Follow The Stars is well on the way to having his best ever season on the racetrack in 2021.
