Former ‘Cups King’ Guaranteed, who stood his first five seasons at the stud in Victoria’s western district, will stand this season at harness racing’s Eldarin Park stud, of Mary Helen Pearce, Pyramid Hill, north of Bendigo.
Established in 1990, Eldarin Park has stood a number of successful imports such as Soky’s Atom, New York Motoring, Southern Gentleman and Sands A Flyin.
Guarantee’s service fee will be $1,650 including GST.
Guaranteed was represented by his first crop as two-year-olds last season. He left 27 foals and of these he had 16 to the races half way through their three-year-old season, and four have been winners and six were placed.
They include the very promising Warrantee (1:58.1), winner of two of his three starts, the Mildura Guineas winner and Vicbred finalist Pas Guarantee (1:55.7) and Guaranteed Secret (1:55.1).
Guaranteed, who had a record of 1:50.4, was a top racehorse in his own right.
From 46 starts he won 24 and was 12 times placed for $856,316 in stakes. A winner from two to five years, Guaranteed met and defeated the best horses of his era and was credited with an amazing 12 wins at Group level.
His major successes included the Vicbred Super Series at two and three, Chariots of Fire, Melton Plate, SA Pacing Cup, Edgar Tatlow Memorial, Paleface Adios Sprint, Victoria Youthful Stakes and the Kilmore Cup in an Australian record mile rate of 2:00.3 for the 3150 metres stand.
A son of American super sire Artsplace (1:49.4) and the great Australian mare Jadah Rose (1:49.6), Guaranteed can boast one of the fastest speed inheritances of any horse at the stud in this country.
Guaranteed is a member of the noted Abercrombie sire line, that which produced Art Major, Albert Albert, Panorama and Life Sign, all top sires.
His dam, Jadah Rose, who belongs to a very successful American family, was the first Australian bred mare to enter the 1:50 list. An Oaks winner and dual Vicbred champion, Jadah Rose was the dam of five individual winners – four in 2:00 – and the grand-dam of the Vicbred champion and Derby heat winner Pacifico Dream (1:51) and the Oaks winner Momentslikethese.
Guaranteed’s progeny are eligible for Vicbred and the Breeders Crown.
