The grand Brillantissime mare Hopeful Beauty hoisted a fresh track record for harness racing trotters over 1690 metres at Shepparton of 1:55.2 – bettering the previous record of 1:55.8 held by Monaro Maro by 3/5 second – when she won a heat of the Lyn McPherson Breed For Speed Gold.
It was the French-bred mare’s 12th success and lifted her lifetime bankroll to $146,655.
She will be among the leading fancies for the Group 2 $50,000 Final at Melton next Saturday night.
Champion sire Love You enjoyed another great week with winners in three different States and New Zealand.
Heading the vanguard was the Kiwi gelding Eurokash, who overcame 20 metre handicaps to win at both Addington and Rangiora. Our Marvella NZ, a three-year-old filly, scored brilliantly at Geelong and Ballarat, Lovelorn won twice at Globe Derby Park, Leaf Stride NZ won again at Menangle, while Dream Of You won for the second time at Cambridge, NZ.
EUROKASH REPLAY

Meanwhile, Love You’s richest son Quaker Jet was represented by the Globe Derby winner Atout, who has won three of her five starts this season.
