After a treble at Menangle on Tuesday (Jul. 12) Jack Trainor will continue his focus on driving at Queensland’s harness racing feature meeting at Albion Park this Saturday night.
Trainor received the call up to drive the Jason Grimson-trained I Cast No Shadow (Shadow Play) in the Group 1 Sunshine Sprint.
Trainor will also drive Sugar Apple (Sweet Lou) for the mentor in the South East Derby that night, as well as Cruz Bromac (Falcon Seelster) in an open-class pace.
Having a breakout season in the training ranks, Trainor is also amongst the top conditioners in NSW and will be represented in the Group 1 Golden Girl feature with his Art Major mare Town Acho.
New South Wales trainers, drivers and horses look set to dominate the Sunshine State’s feature meeting with more than 40 horses from the state competing on the card.
Top NSW junior driver Jack Callaghan will also feature at that meeting and has five drives at Penrith on Thursday (Jul. 14).
Callaghan will head north on Saturday (Jul. 16) for four feature races drives, including his engagement with Spirit Of St Louis (Sweet Lou) in the Sunshine Sprint where they have drawn barrier two in the feature.
