Former Kiwi five-year-old Lord Zarias is proving a splendid advertisement in Queensland for the harness racing champion Changeover, who stands at Burwood Stud on the Darling Downs.
Having only his second start on Australian soil, the gelding came from third last to win in a career-best 1:57.5 rate over 2138 metres at Albion Park on Saturday night (April 15).
It was his seventh success and lifted his stake tally to over $80,000.
Other recent Queensland winners by Changeover have been the 1:54.2 Albion Park victor Mullum Guido, the Redcliffe winners Mullum Doc and Awayovernight NZ and Aqua Cruiser (Marburg).
LORD ZARIAS REPLAY
The Mustang, a Listed winner by Changeover, brought up his 19th win and sent his earnings over the $200,000 plateau at Gloucester Park, while La Bella Vita and The Charging Moa, a pair of NZ bred daughters of Changeover, won at Saratoga Raceway in New York in 1:54.4 and 1:56 respectively.
