David Miles’ three-year-old pacer Miss Tyler’s only had the one start to date but good times may be just around the corner if the three-year-old Well Said prospect’s recent hit-out is any indication.
Miss Tyler won her Bendigo trial on Anzac Day, producing what trial watcher Craig Rail classed a “tidy display” as she mowed down the front runners and cleared out to the line.
The run earned her a place in Rail’s highly touted Blackbook. Scroll down to see her trial replay and to the bottom for the updated Blackbook.
SHEPPARTON 22/04/21
Trial 1: – NIGHT SCHOOL was in various positions in the run but at the end, he was able to score without having to be pushed out to the line. He was behind the leader, three back on the markers, without cover from the 900m then forced out three horses wide from the 600m so it was a tidy display. He finished fifth at Kilmore on Thursday night and is backing up at Cobram on Monday. COVERED KYLIE led out, took a trail at the 1700m and obtained an inside run at the 500m. She tried hard to go with NIGHT SCHOOL at the end and missed out by a narrow margin. ASTAIR (Bettors Delight – Dancing With Daisy) settled last of the six runners, came out four horses wide at the 300m mark and finished off strongly for an eye-catching third. He made his debut with an eye-catching third at Kilmore on Thursday and will win a race at short notice. ASSASSINS GOLD (Western Terror – Pyrites 1.57.9, $59,008) settled five back on the markers and beat home SWEETER THAN SUGAR (Sweet Lou – Beach Melody 1.54.7, $101,825), which settled one position ahead of him before moving into the one out and one back trail with 900m remaining. JUST CALL ME BILL was without cover early, pushed to the lead at the 1700m and hung out under pressure in the back straight on the final occasion. He dropped out to finish last.
Trial 2: – WILLEM won the second trial after leading throughout. It was just like trackwork for the three Metropolitan assessed pacers as they all went to the line with something in reserve and finished together. LETSROCKLETSROLL came from last of the three runners and came out three horses wide in the home straight. DIVINE DIVA trailed the leader and came away from the inside on the home turn. DIVINA DIVA returns from a spell at Cobram on Monday where she is awkwardly drawn but is one of the leading chances.
Mile Rate: – 2.2.0 Final Half: – 57.3 Margins: – 1m, Head
Trial 3: – CASHFLOW CASSIE began quickly and was three horses wide early, took the lead at the 1800m then gained cover at the 1100m behind DELIGHTFUL NIKKY. She angled away from the markers on the home turn, ambled up on the outside and won the trial without being fully extended. DELIGHTFUL NIKKY was four back on the markers, moved away from the inside at the 1200m and effortlessly found the lead coming up to the bell. She tried to go with CASHFLOW CASSIE in the straight but couldn’t match her speed at the finish. DELIGHTFUL NIKKY beat home CASHFLOW CASSIE at Kilmore on Thursday night where they finished fourth and sixth respectively but she did trail the leader from barrier one. SHELBY GRACE began well and was three back on the markers early, got shuffled back a position further at the bell and moved up without cover from the 600m mark. She finished third ahead of MAJOR ZONE, which dropped back to be last of the seven runners, moved into the running lane at the 600m (1-2) and came out three horses wide on the home turn. ARE YOU WITH ME led out, took a trail and ended up being three back on the inside. She finished in front of MILLION DOLLAR ART (5 back markers) and SMOOTH ROLLING (6 back markers, 1-1 at 600m).
Mile Rate: – 2.2.0 Final Half: – 59.0 Margins: – 1m, 15m
Trial 4: – DENNY ROCKS (Rock N Roll Heaven – Jodi Lindenny 2.3.8, $8,206) began well but was content to take a trail shortly after the start. He came to the outside on the home turn and was able to coast to victory. The time was very slow but he was jogging across the line. He makes his debut at Cobram on Monday but is taking on a handy field. SPEEDY SPIDA (Betterthancheddar – Rosa Toscana) settled down last of the four runners and moved to the outside at the 400m mark. He ended up being three horses wide on the home turn but made steady ground for second placing. RACING DREAM (Racing Hill – Shadow Flag 1.55.3, $38,180) was caught without cover early, angled onto the markers to be three back and used the sprint lane. He finished off reasonably well for third position. QUITE CONTRARY (Art Major – Tombstone Eden 1.55.4, $74,222) began quickly to find the front and tried to lead throughout but was run down in the final 150m.
Mile Rate: – 2.6.6 Final Half: – 60.9 Margins: – 3m, 3m
Trial 5: – GARSHAWAY began well and was without cover early before pushing forward to find the lead with 1800m remaining. He backed off the tempo mid-race but kicked well clear approaching the home turn and won nicely at the end, going across the line under a strong hold. ASK NO QUESTIONS (Skyvalley – Don’t Question This) led out, took a trail and finished in second position. TEQUILA BREE was three back on the markers and was doing her best work at the end to finish third. She backed up with a fifth at Kilmore on Thursday night behind the classy 3yo trotters Have No Fear and Kyvalley Hotspur. IMPERIAL COUNTESS stepped away slowly but safely from the standing start and was 20m away from the pack on the first corner. She tacked onto the group and moved away from the inside to try and pick up ground from the 600m but remained at the tail of the field.
Mile Rate: – 2.9.1 Final Half: – 60.2 Margins: – 12m, 3m
Trial 6: – SPIDER DUNBAR was left approximately 100m in front at the start when his two rivals both broke stride so he was able to jog around at his leisure to win the prize. BERRIESANDCHERRIES (Crazed – Meredith Castle 2.0.8, $38,427) broke stride at the start and settled behind MILLEE (Rock N Roll Heaven – Jovial Jurno Lombo 1.57.6, $24,898) before coming to the outside to try and chase after the tearaway leader at the 700m. She picked up ground but was never going to catch SPIDER DUNBAR. MILLEE had to take evasive action when BERRIESANDCHERRIES galloped and veered in at the start. She became unbalanced as a result and broke stride. She was able to get down trotting quicker then BERRIESANDCHERRIES and was in second position for the majority of the trial.
Mile Rate: – 2.10.6 Final Half: – 64.2 Margins: – 50m, 20m
Trial 7: – KEKOA (Art Major – Hawaiian Hottie USA $20,147) backed up his outstanding trial victory a week earlier with another easy success. She began safely, progressed forward to lead at the 1800m and jogged away in the straight. She seemed to lose a bit of concentration in the straight and raced a little greenly but she still scored by a large margin. She makes her debut in the final race at Cobram on Monday and should prove very hard to beat. MONARO MIA settled four back on the markers and moved into the one out and one back trail at the quarter pole. She came out three horses wide on the home turn and finished off very strongly for a game second. CHEEZ (Betterthancheddar – Life Savings 1.57.9, $33,115) finished third after being three back on the markers for the majority of the trip. He is competing in the same race at KEKOA at Cobram on Monday. ROCKWITH THEDEVIL began quickly to lead, took cover behind KEKOA and couldn’t go with the leaders over the latter stages. CRACKER JET settled down last of the five runners, came to the outside in the back straight on the final occasion and made ground approaching the home turn but ended up at the tail of the field.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.8 Final Half: – 58.8 Margins: – 10m, 12m

She unfortunately galloped away and lost her chance at Kilmore on Thursday night. BUNDISGOOD trailed the leader and finished third ahead of DESDEMORA, which was three back on the markers. DESDEMORA raced at Geelong on Wednesday night and produced a career best performance with her fast finishing fourth behind Fun On Rum. BACKINTHESKY (Skyvalley – Backina Lifetime 1.59.9, $70,053) settled last of the six runners, moved away from the inside at the bell (1-2) and finished fifth. SOVEREIGN TIGER was five back on the markers, angled into the one out and one back trail and came out three horses wide on the home turn but broke stride. He appeared to be a good chance of finishing second at the time he galloped.
Mile Rate: – 2.9.4 Final Half: – 61.2 Margins: – 20m, 2m
Trial 2: – MASTER REMI began quickly to lead by a clear margin. He backed off the tempo mid-race then dashed clear at the end to win by a large margin. He was given a good hit-out over the final stages in preparation for his first up performance at Cranbourne on Sunday. MAGIC CRAFT settled three back on the markers, angled around HEART OF SAHARA (Betting Line – Sahara Miss 1.54.4, $66,463) from the 500m and tried to chase but couldn’t make an impression on the winner. HEART OF SAHARA dropped off after trailing the leader but she is a juvenile pacer and was taking on older horses.
Mile Rate: – 2.6.6 Final Half: – 59.9 Margins: – 20m, 15m
Trial 3: – CAPTAIN BELLASARIO trailed the leader, used the sprint lane and accelerated nicely in the straight to win easily. He appeared to have plenty left in the locker at the finish. SAHARA STORM settled three back on the markers and moved away from the inside with 300m remaining to pursue. He finished off well but not as fast as CAPTAIN BELLASARIO. PERSHING ran along at a reasonable tempo after showing gate speed to lead and held on well in the straight for third. She strikes a suitable race at Cranbourne on Sunday and is not without a chance. MYSTIC CASTLE settled last of the four runners and dropped off the pack in the final 600m.
Mile Rate: – 2.3.8 Final Half: – 58.1 Margins: – 2m, Neck
Trial 4: – SAHARA TIGER settled last of the three runners and moved to the outside with 600m remaining. He sprinted sharply and quickly hit the front at the quarter pole. He kept on rolling in the home straight and won by a large margin. CELESTIAL TREKKER finished second after setting the speed and DEFT TOUCH was last of the three horses to complete the course after trailing the leader throughout.
Mile Rate: – Not Given Final Half: – Not Given Margins: – 20m, 8m (approximately)

Trial 3: – SEBS CHOICE was placed in both the Guineas and the Derby in Tasmania before returning to Victoria with a victory against the Metropolitan 3yo class so he is right on the top of his game at present. He was able to record fast time and record a large winning margin in the third trial. RENDEZVOUS hasn’t started since October but she won a race during her juvenile season so she has ability and she beat the remainder of the field in the trial by a comfortable margin. ONWATCH was unplaced at his debut performance in January then was spelled. He finished in third position ahead of the former Tasmanian pacer OUR IDEAL FELLA. ARTS CLASSIC only had two starts during his juvenile season and hasn’t raced since August. He finished ahead of BETTERTHANFLYHIGH and the qualifier WHY NOT DREAM (Shadow Play – Why Comment).

OUR SIR OLIVER finished second and used the trial as a lead up to his effort at Geelong on Wednesday night, where he finished fourth against the claiming class. BLISSFULL STRIDE was the last of the three runners to cross the line.
Mile Rate: – 2.4.2 Final Half: – 59.1 Margins: – 2m, 8m
Trial 5: – MANTHADEE hasn’t raced since October but she is a strong mare, which likes to run along at a genuine tempo. She recorded a superb mile rate of 1.56.5 on her way to victory, which suggests she is ready to run a big race when she resumes. MICTON MOUSE hasn’t started since a Tasmanian campaign, which ended in November. He also recorded a quick mile rate considering he was only beaten by 8m and he did beat the remainder of the field by a large margin. ALPHA CRUCIS is a former New South Wales trained pacer, which has been unplaced in two Victorian starts to date. He finished a distant third and backs up at Cranbourne on Sunday. OCEANIQUE finished in fourth position and beat home FEROCIOUS SON and BALDOCK.

She has ability and will be fitter from her trial second. STYLISH IN BLACK (Village Jolt – Romantic Impulse 2.4.4, $4,800) was third ahead of CEE CEE NORMAN, which is a fast beginner and has drawn on the pole position at Cranbourne on Sunday. He is awkwardly drawn at Cranbourne on Sunday but is a chance if he delivers a fool proof display. PROSTHESIS finished in second position with HAMMERS PEGASUS being in third. The last placed FUN ON RUM stepped out at Geelong on Wednesday night and was able to record a good victory when coming from off the speed in fast time.
Mile Rate: – 2.5.6 Final Half: – 60.4 Margins: – 2m, 8m

REMI MAGIC was the only horse that competed in the trial that has raced previously but he was last of the four runners across the line.
Mile Rate: – 2.8.1 Final Half: – 61.8 Margins: – 15m, 5m
Trial 9: – MONARCH STRIDE (Muscle Hill – Nitengale Stride USA) prepared for his performance at Kilmore on Thursday night with a runway victory in a solid mile rate of 2.3.9 for the trotters at Bacchus Marsh. He was headed off from the pole position at Kilmore and ran a decent race for second so it won’t be long before he breaks through for a win. RIGHT OF REPLY prepared for his performance at Melton three days later with a second placing. He led at his Melton performance on Tuesday, raced roughly coming up to the home turn and ended up filling fifth position. FROSTY RECEPTION was the third horse past the post and beat home SHIPS SUCCESS, the nicely bred gelding KRAKEUR (Sebastian K – Mia Mosca 1.59.9, $52,216) and also MAJOR MAX.

LADY OLIVIAS FOLLY is also competing at Cranbourne on Sunday. She finished third ahead of the qualifier EVOS DREAM (Pet Rock – Dashem) with CALCULATING DANCER being in fifth. CALCULATING DANCER was another horse out of the Bacchus Marsh trials that performed well at Geelong on Wednesday night having finished in second position. SUMMER GRIN hasn’t raced since May 2020 and was the last one to greet the judge.

ECHUCA 25/04/21
Trial 1: – FULLOFMISCHIEF began very quickly from the outside of the front line and found the lead on the first corner. He ran along at an even tempo and remained strong at the finish to win the trial by a comfortable margin. ARGY BARGY trailed the leader from the pole position and came to the outside in the home straight but just held his ground in the run to the finish. ILLAWONG STARDUST settled three back on the markers, moved to the outside at the 700m mark and tried to chase. She batted on well in the straight and considering the mile rate was a solid 2.1.6, it was a handy performance for a trotter. TELAVIZE (Tell All – Formalize) was fourth back on the markers before moving into the one out and one back trail behind ILLAWONG STARDUST. He finished fourth with SHES GOING PLACES being last of the five runners for the duration.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.6 Final Half: – 61.0 Margins: – 5m, 5m

She was able to hold off the late challenge of COLBY ART, which sat in the trail until coming to the outside on the home turn. YESMISSJANE put in a very good performance to finish third. She galloped 50m after the start and lost valuable ground. She was able to chase the field and roll into third position over the latter stages. ANTIHERO (Red Samurai – Golden Antigone) gained a one out and one back trail and broke stride at the 500m mark. He finished fourth ahead of the juvenile pacer SAVERIO (Well Said – Harrys Joy), which settled three back on the markers and broke stride momentarily on the home turn.
Mile Rate: – 2.8.2 Final Half: – 62.0 Margins: – 2m, 12m
Trial 3: – DALLAS PATRICK began fast and drew two metres in front early but couldn’t head off ILLAWONG KELLIE, which used the inside advantage to drive through and lead. He was forced to angle in behind the leader early and remained in that position until the bell when he came to the outside to challenge. Despite having the toughest run in the race, he was able to edge to the front over the final stages. He has drawn favourably at Cobram on Monday and should run his usual honest race but he is taking on a handy field. ILLAWONG KELLIE finished second after using some energy early to lead and GIANNIS AY MACRAY finished third after being three back on the markers and moving through to trail the leader in the last lap. SUMBEACH ART settled down last, tried to make a move at the bell but was left out three horses wide, eased for the one out and one back trail and remained in fourth position for the remainder of the journey.

ZERO DOUBT (Shadyshark Hanover – Problem Solved 1.59.0, $27,361) was the last one to finish with JUDES DUDE (Major Bronski – Pridenachievement 1.57.2, $8,145) unfortunately failing to complete course.

GEELONG 26/04/21
Trial 1: – ALDEBARAN MISTY led out then took a trail on the first bend. She ended up being last of the three runners at the 1300m mark but she came out three horses wide at the quarter pole and sprinted home nicely to get the prize. She galloped and chased hard when she ran a big race at her debut and her trial form suggests she can be competitive in the Homegrown Classic series, which commences today at Maryborough. LOOSE CASH pushed forward to find the lead at the 1800m, took a trail at the 1300m and moved away from the inside at the 500m. She moved up to hit the lead before the home turn but couldn’t withstand the challenge of ALDEBARAN MISTY. WISHINGNDREAMING (Wishing Stone – Sashas Dream 2.1.8, $22,145) settled three back on the inside, moved up without cover at the 1500m, pushed to the lead at the 1300m and was overtaken on the home bend. He has drawn on the pole position at Terang on Tuesday night but is competing against Eyethink, which was very impressive at his debut victory over the subsequent Kilmore winner Soho Dow Jones. FLIRTING came from the three back on the markers to be in second position. She moved to the outside in the straight and made ground. LANAI (Captaintreacherous – Just Stopandstare 1.58.0, $24,858) was a nice effort in third position. She settled three back on the outside, switched to the inner before the home turn and ran home well. BILLY JACK (Major In Art – Jilliby Jamila 1.59.8, $52,947) settled four back on the markers and held his ground in the straight. COBALT STRIDE (Captaintreacherous – Eye Catching 1.56.8, $38,730) was last early and worked into the one out and one back trail before coming out three horses wide from the 500m mark. MIRAMANEE (American Ideal – The Baggy Green 1.57.0, $108,700) led out, took a trail and came to the outside on the home turn. She shifted out to the centre of the track under pressure late and finished just behind the place getters. GOODTIME SHADY (Shadyshark Hanover – Orion Star 1.55.4, $42,299) was slow in the score up and ended up behind out of position at the start by approximately 5m. He ended up racing without cover throughout and was under pressure from the 300m mark.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.7 Final Half: – 59.0 Margins: – 2m, 6m
Trial 3: – MOREFLINGTHANBLING began quickly to find the lead and backed off the tempo mid-race. She appeared to be in all sorts of trouble when overtaken at the quarter pole but she rallied in the straight and got the prize. HALLABOUTME was forced to race without cover for the first lap prior to angling onto the markers in third position at the 1100m mark. She used the sprint lane in the straight and made ground despite racing a little roughly in the final 50m. ELEGANT JET (Quaker Jet -Schleck $16,489) trailed the leader and moved away from the inside with 500m remaining. He drew a length clear coming up to the home turn and looked the winner but peaked on his run over the latter stages. TANISHAS DREAM (Conch Deville – Gina Dawn) was three back on the markers early but ended up at the tail of the field and was starting to yield ground in the back straight on the final occasion.
Mile Rate: – 2.5.4 Final Half: – 61.6 Margins: – 2m, 2m
Trial 4: – STIR ME UP began well to trail the leader early before pushing to the outside and zipping to the lead with 1700m remaining. He always travelled nicely in the run and was able to land the prize. ONEHANDONEBOUNCE travelled awkwardly at the start and seemingly didn’t like being restrained. He was hanging out and racing fiercely so he was allowed to slide to the lead. He settled better and was able to take cover after that so his effort to finish second was sound. ROCKNOVERTIME settled four back on the markers, moved away from the inside at the 300m mark and ran into third ahead of PEDANTIC (Art Major – Bettor Charm 1.57.3, $35,153), which settled three back on the markers. Mile Rate: – 2.4.7 Final Half: – 60.1 Margins: – 15m, 5m
BLACKBOOKER: – Honey Bourbon
Trial 6: – YANKEE GOLD settled down in last position, moved up without cover from the 600m and hit the lead in the straight before holding off a determined challenge from ROCK ON PLAYBOY. He is a smart horse and boasts a good record so he should be improved by the run. ROCK ON PLAYBOY was three back on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 500m and ran home well for a close second. SUPREME DOMINATOR trailed the leader, angled onto the back of YANKEE GOLD in the front straight and never peeled to the outside at any stage of the event. He went to the line jogging in third position. GRIZZLY MONTANA attempted to lead throughout and was headed in the home straight but wasn’t far from the winner at the end.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.4 Final Half: – 57.2 Margins: – Head, 4m
Trial 7: – MAH MUKKER was able to slide to the front shortly after the start and set up a slow tempo. He was always in control of the trial and jogged home to win comfortably. MADENA SKY was the first to begin and took cover behind MAH MUKKER. She held down second in front of HOMONYM, which angled to the outside on the home turn but just held his ground over the final stages.
Mile Rate: – 2.7.0 Final Half: – 60.6 Margins: – 8m, 5m
Trial 8: – MADENA BAY was able to pick up his handicap of 30m very easily with a very slow start to the event. He was three back on the markers until KEAYANG SAMBUCA (Sam Bourbon – Bohemian Queen 2.4.1, $13,170) made a mistake from behind the leader turning out of the front straight with short of a lap to run. He pounced on the lead with 450m remaining and was too good in the run to the finish. KEAYANG SAMBUCA did very well to recover and finish in second position. ALDEBARAN DAMON (Love You – Aldebaran Deegan) was able to step to the lead, went very slowly in the early stages and was overtaken when the field of three runners approached the quarter pole.
Mile Rate: – 2.11.2 Final Half: – 61.6 Margins: – 5m, 8m
BENDIGO 26/04/21
Trial 1: – TIBER stepped away quickly from the standing start and led clearly. He had a good margin on his rivals turning for home and was just able to hold on in the run to the finish. He is drawn on the pole position at Cobram on Monday but is taking on a handy field. MULBERRY PIE settled three back on the inside, moved away from the markers on the home turn and finished off nicely in the run to the finish. DONTOUCH THE DUCO was in second position throughout, used the sprint lane and was dashing through late with seemingly plenty in reserve. COUNTESS CHIRON galloped wildly at the start and dropped out to a long last. She picked up LE BELLA FIGURA (4 back markers) over the final stages.
Mile Rate: – 2.7.0 Final Half: – 60.9 Margins: – ½ Head, ½ Head
Trial 2: – WISH UPONA DREAM (Wishing Stone – Canadian Dream 2.0.8, $52,312) began the fastest from the outside of the front line and found the lead shortly after the start. She set up a slow tempo in the early stages and was able to hold on in the run to the finish. JESSIES SON (Majestic Son – Sheza Chenille) was given plenty of time to settle down and was a clear last of the three. He was the widest runner into the straight and finished off determinedly for second. SHEZ MAJESTIC (Majestic Son – Sheza Amason 1.59.5, $56,163) trailed the leader, moved to the outside on the home turn and finished a close third. All three horses will make their debut in the Homegrown Classic series at Maryborough this afternoon.
Mile Rate: – 2.9.8 Final Half: – 61.4 Margins: – 1.5m, Neck
Trial 3: – VINCENT KAI was without cover early before pressuring the leader and finding the top at the 1700m mark. He backed off the speed mid-race and was able to win comfortably in the run to the finish. LEOTARDANDLACE finished second after settling three back on the markers and coming to the outside on the home turn. LADY LIL finished third after leading out, taking cover and using the sprint lane. SMART CHA CHA was in the one wide lane early, eased to be last on the markers, came out wide from the 400m and chased hard over the latter stages for fourth. She backed up at Kilmore on Thursday where she trotted awkwardly all of the way and eventually broke stride. ZINGARA LASS was five back on the markers for the majority of the journey and was able to beat home TRUMPIT LIL (4 back markers).
Mile Rate: – 2.8.1 Final Half: – 61.9 Margins: – 5m, 1m
Trial 4: – WHOS THE MAN prepared for his first up effort at Cranbourne on Sunday with an effortless victory. He was last early but remained one away from the markers, moved up without cover and jogged home at the finish to win untouched by a comfortable margin. ALDEBARAN YAHTZEE was fourth early but progressed forward and moved to the lead at the 1500m mark. She travelled nicely in the run but couldn’t repel the challenge of WHOS THE MAN at the finish. WATCH AND ACT gained a one out and one back trail behind WHOS THE MAN and came to the outside in the straight. He finished just behind ALDEBARAN YAHTZEE with MISS BROOMFIELD (1-2) closing in late to finish in fourth position. JESSICAS STORY began swiftly to lead, took cover behind ALDEBARAN YAHTZEE and filled fifth position. THE CHOOK (Life Sign – My Classical Bell) was without cover early, angled in behind JESSICAS STORY and ended up being three back on the markers. She beat home CASA ALBERTA (Angus Hall – Casa Fundada, placed $19,940), which was four back on the markers before being last on the outside at the 400m mark.

BLACKBOOKER: – Whos The Man
Trial 5: – PRESIDENT ROYDON was given plenty of time to balance up in the early stages and settled last of the six runners. He moved up without cover from the half mile marker and was able to sneak forward in the final circuit. He only got up on the line but it was a very soft win at the end. IM DADDY WARBUCKS was without cover early, pushed forward to find the lead then took cover at the 1500m mark. He came to the outside with 400m remaining, hit the front and went down narrowly. He wasn’t fully extended going to the line so it was a good performance considering he is a National Ratings 54 assessed trotter and the winner is an 88! The smart 3yo filly SENITAS STRENGTH maintained her good form with a fast finishing third after she settled four back on the markers in the early stages of the trial. RYMES (Majestic Son – Genayas Girl) galloped wildly at the start and was sent to the outside fence. She didn’t lose too much ground and once she got back into a trot, she made a quick dash around the field to lead. The early effort took a toll and she tired at the end. RIGONDEAUX settled five back on the markers and moved into the one out and one back trail at the 700m mark. He finished ahead of ONE MUSCLE HILL, which was behind the leader early before ending up being three back on the inside.
Mile Rate: – 2.3.5 Final Half: – 59.6 Margins: – Head, 1m
Trial 6: – ARCHAA (A Rocknroll Dance – Shes Pinkalicious) raced greenly at the start and dropped out to be last of the three runners in the early stages. He moved into the one out and one back trail in the back straight and came out three horses wide at the 300m mark. He was able to work home best out wide on the track and get the prize. LAVENDER DOLLY (Four Starzzz Shark – Lavender Bullant) trailed the leader AS SHE SAYS (Well Said – Arts Bliss 2.0.1, $81,275) in the early stages but was left in front when that horse broke stride momentarily with 900m remaining. She was pressured by AS SHE SAYS in the back straight and kicked on well in the straight. AS SHE SAYS ended up dropping back to be last on the line.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.2 Final Half: – 58.6 Margins: – 3m, 3m
Trial 7: – MISS TYLER produced a tidy display to take out the seventh trial of the night. She settled down four back on the markers but the leading pair got approximately 30m ahead mid-race and she had to chase hard in the last lap. Not only did she pick up the 30m leeway, she then came out three horses wide, dashed to the lead and scored by 20m at the end. ORION BLASTER (Caribbean Blaster – Starlit Orion) paced roughly at the start but commenced in second place and angled in behind the leader. He came to the outside with 500m remaining and hit the lead momentarily before being run down turning for home. CALYPSO MISTRESS finished third after finding the lead and running along at a genuine tempo in the early stages. She tired late but was well clear of LORD ALPHA (Shadow Play – Table Games 2.5.4, $9,382), which settled three back on the markers early and HEZA BERGSTEIN, which was last of the five runners throughout.

Trial 8: – ARGH ME HEARTY began quickly to find the lead and was unchallenged in the first circuit. SAINT WIN left the position of three back on the markers to join the leader from the bell and they went very quickly in the final circuit. ARGH ME HEARTY had a good kick left however and coasted down to the line to win very comfortably. She is racing in career best form and is ready to break through for a win. She is meeting a very strong field in the Australian Gold at Melton tomorrow night but she might run a race at odds. SAINT WIN continued her strong trial form also and should run a good race first up at Maryborough this afternoon. SALSBOY trailed the leader and finished third. He lost the back of ARGH ME HEARTY on the home turn and galloped momentarily in the home straight. FOUR LONELY NIGHTS commenced the trial from the second line and settled last of the four runners. He moved into the one out and one back trail at the bell but remained last of the four runners at the end.
Mile Rate: – 2.3.7 Final Half: – 56.7 Margins: – 5m, 15m
Trial 9: – PRAY TELL settled four back on the inside, moved up without cover at the 1200m and hit the lead on the home turn. He paced very roughly when entering the home straight and raced greenly but was able to kick on well at the finish to win by a narrow margin. REDFOX RAIDER raced roughly at the start and dropped back to last. He wanted to hang in at various stages of the event but he switched back to the sprint lane and finished off strongly at the end. SAFE JEWELS was three back on the markers before moving into the one out and one back trail at the bell. She came wide into the straight and ran home well to be a close third in a very good finish. FREDDIESAM settled behind the leader, pulled hard and moved away from the markers in the straight. He had no clear run over the concluding stages and should have finished closer. He has had a few chances since coming from New Zealand but his trial effort was a bit sharper and he can show improvement at Mildura this evening. OUTSIDE FIGHTER began very quickly and tried to lead all of the way but peaked on his run in the final 200m. He returns from a spell at Cobram on Monday and that race might even be a little easier than the horses he competed against in the trial.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.7 Final Half: – 57.4 Margins: – Head, Nose

Trial 2: – The outstanding trotter COVER OF DARKNESS hasn’t raced since suffering defeat for the first time in nine starts in the Super Series Final but he returned with an effortless win where he quickly found the front and rolled along at a good tempo. He went to the line under a strong hold. SAINT CALDER was competing against a Group 1 winner and a star of his age group so he did an excellent job to finish as close as he did. He chased hard in the trail and wasn’t beaten by too far at the end. Considering he is assessed with a National Rating of 49, he is worth following. HYPERBOLIX (Bacardi Lindy – Eleanor Eden 2.2.8, $23,388) galloped away and was tailed off for the entire trial.
Mile Rate: – 2.2.9 Final Half: – 59.3 Margins: – 12m, 200m

OUR LITTLE JET (Bettors Delight – Kabbalah Karen B CA 1.52.4, $285,098) finished in second position after beginning quickly from barrier four and finding the lead. Both the winner and the second placed horse went to the line with plenty in reserve. EMER (Sportswriter – It Is She 1.57.1, $26,548) trailed the leader and came away from the inside on the home turn. ENCIPHER (Captaintreacherous – Our Cavort 1.57.9, $46,080) settled three back on the markers, moved away from the inside on the home turn and came out four horses wide when turning for home. He ran home nicely under his own steam. NOTHING SWEETER (Sweet Lou – Almihata 2.3.4, $12,248) finished last of the five runners after racing without cover for the duration.
Mile Rate: – 2.2.2 Final Half: – 57.2 Margins: – Neck, 3m
Trial 4: – IDLE TIMES began fast to find the lead and ran along at a reasonable tempo. He finished off the trial in a slick final 800m of 55.9 seconds to win by a large margin. TRIPLE ZED settled last of the four runners and moved up without cover with 1200m remaining. He tried to put pressure on IDLE TIMES in the back straight but peaked on his run late. Considering the final half was very fast, his run was sound. TELEMACHUS finished third after trailing the leader throughout and MATTS DELIGHT was left flat footed when the field sprinted in the back straight but rallied at the end and wasn’t far away from nabbing third position on the line.
Mile Rate: – 1.59.7 Final Half: – 55.9 Margins: – 25m, 2m
