Major Delight (Bettor’s Delight) held on to record her ninth straight win when taking out the $300,000 G1 Breeders Crown 2YO Fillies Final in the hands of harness racing driver Mark Pitt, tonight at Tabcorp Park Melton.
Emma Stewart trained the first four home in the race after Tempting Tiger ran second, Perfect Tiger finished third and Spring Blue ran home well for fourth.
Major Delight had to work hard to keep her picket fence form line intact, as Tempting Tiger made a race of it getting to within half a neck of Major Delight at the line.
The win of Major Delight secured an early Group One double for Emma Stewart and Mark Pitt with plenty more opportunities to come throughout the night.
Tonight’s G1 success is the second in the glittering career of the unbeaten juvenile who paced the 2240m journey in a dazzling 2:38.6, with the last mile run in an incredible 1:54.0.
MAJOR DELIGHT REPLAY
Major Delight was bred and raced by Peter Lewis with the juvenile filly being a full brother in blood to Breeders Crown and Victoria Cup champion, Max Delight.
