The South Australian Harness Racing Club wish to advise that Peter Marshall has been elected President following the 2025 Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday, November 25.
Marshall asked for the member’s support to elect him back on the committee in 2023 and served a two-year term reconnecting with the Club. He has previously served as President of the Club on two separate occasions.
He is the only President in the history of the Club to preside over Globe Derby Park hosting the Inter Dominion twice in 1997 and 2002. In 1997 the Club created history being the first club to hold the pacers and trotters’ final on the same night and the first club to hold the Inter Dominion without a running rail which is now the practice at all harness racing tracks for safety of our horses and drivers.
Marshall stated: “Recent media coverage about the future of harness racing at Globe Derby being in question were incorrect. The SAHRC shares the vision of the club’s patron, Kevin Seymour in wanting to revitalise Globe Derby and invites all those connected to the industry to come along for the ride.”
“As President, our Board and our CEO we look forward to the exciting times ahead,” Marshall said.
