The Art Major horse Follow The Stars, a former New Zealand and Australian Two-Year-Old of the Year who is now standing at Medowie Lodge stud, Newcastle, is enjoying a banner year with his progeny.
He has sired the winners of almost $950,000 in stakes with 46 individual winners including 10 two-year-olds and 21 three-year-olds.
Overall, Follow The Stars has 70 winners from 121 starters ā nearly a 60 per cent strike rate ā and 50 percent of his first crop – now racing as four-year-olds – have been successful.
Follow The Stars sired winners in three different states of Australia in the first week of October including a ānewā two-year-old winner in Bonstar, who won in 1:58.3 at Gloucester Park, and the three-year-olds Per Ardua Ad Astra (Gloucester Park, 1:57.8), Rip Jackson (1:58.3, Pinjarra) and Cluster Star (Narrogin).
Startup, who posted his fourth success at Globe Derby Park, Shes All Star (Redcliffe) and Star In Art (Central Wheatbelt) were other recent winners sired by Follow The Stars.
Follow The Stars is the only current New South Wales-based sire ranked in the top dozen on both the national two and three-year-old sire premierships.
