Every major task connections have aimed Sweet Lou filly Zephyra she has won.
The two-year-old claimed her second Group 1 win in harness racingās $215,000 Westbred Classic at Gloucester Park on Friday (Sep. 16).
It was just three starts ago Zephyra won the $100,000 Diamond Classic Final.
Trainer-driver Dylan Egerton-Green has not earmarked another feature just yet, however, has not completely ruled out the $150,000 Golden Slipper at Gloucester Park on September 30.
āShe is still a pretty light filly, she still has a bit of growing and filling out to do,ā Egerton-Green told The Trots WA.
āI havenāt spoke to them (owners) about what we are going to do from here weāve just taken it week-by-week.
āWe aimed for the Diamond and ticked that off the bucket list then we aimed at the Westbred and ticked that off.
āI donāt think her best attribute is out in front or in the breeze, she comes off a helmet really fast.ā
Despite this, Zephyra obtained her latest success leading throughout the 2130m feature from barrier three.
Once in front she rolled through the sectionals in 30.6, 30.0, 28.8 and 28.9 seconds returning a mile rate of 1:57.8.
ZEPHYRA REPLAY
āObliviously we were able to get the front tonight which made our job a lot easier,ā said Egerton-Green.
āSheās continued to work well throughout this prep and she has been able to get the job done in both of them, so pretty happy.
āIām grateful for Jess and Hayley for giving me the opportunity to take her on and weāve proven that sheās a nice filly and done well.
āWhen I was younger I didnāt get many drives and Jess put me on a few of his slower ones out in the Wheatbelt and heās done pretty good for me and Iām forever grateful for that.ā
Jesse, Hayley and Maree Moore own Zephyra and bred her out of their Jeremes Jet mare Tricky Styx.
Zephyra now has a record if six wins and two placings in eight starts.
This success gave Sweet Lou a Group 1 double on the night with Never Ending winning the two-year-old colts and geldings edition of the Westbred Classic.
The Justin Prentice-trained gelding is unbeaten in five starts that includes back-to-back Group 1 wins having taken out the $100,000 Pearl Classic last start.
With Gary Hall Jnr at the reins, Never Ending clocked 1:55.6.
