Andy Over (Andovers Son) battled through the back half to capture the Preferred Trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Mar. 14) in a close harness racing finish.

After hanging wide to gain control at the quarter in :29.2, Ed Hensley gave the gelding a breather to the half in 1:00.4. Kameran Hanover (Chris Christoforou) marched first-up passing the stands and joined Andy Over up top on the backstretch.

The duelers raced level through three-quarters in 1:29.4. Andy Over wrested back a one-length edge via inside positioning on the final turn and staved off the closing challenger to win by a head in 1:58.3.

Eyes Of Justice (Tyler Borth) finished third after sitting behind the battle.

ANDY OVER

Andy Over is a  24-time winner in 127 starts and has earned $174,193. Ashleigh Hensley trains the six-year-old. Ed Hensley and she co-own the gelding.

Also on the card, Jeff Hunt started his driving career perfectly with a three-length victory behind Lilys Lass (Angus Hall) in his pari-mutuel sulky debut. He showed no timidness, tipping the mare three-wide on the backside and guiding her to victory in 1:59.3. Patrick Hunt trains and co-owns Lilys Lass with Goldfinger Stables.
