After missing a cheque for four consecutive starts, Casimir Richie P rebounded on Monday with a comprehensive victory in the Preferred 3 Pace at Grand River Raceway.
Driver Colin Kelly executed a give-and-go maneuver with the son of Astronomical, taking an early lead from post one and sending the stallion back to the top after after Brave World (Travis Henry) took over briefly in a :28 first quarter mile. Casimir Richie P settled onto the front end and comfortably cut :57.4 and 1:26 middle splits before jogging to a two-and-three-quarter-length victory in 1:54.3 under wraps.
Brave World followed the winner and claimed the place position at 36-1. Passionate Prince finished third.
Casimir Richie P was favoured by the public and returned $3.40.

Casimir Richie P spent his past four starts descending the Mohawk class ladder, missing the top five in each. Trainer Teesha Symes shipped him back to Grand River after an eight-place finish on Aug. 21. The horse is 23-for-92 lifetime and has brought in $371,518. Michael Goldberg of Toronto owns him.
