Harness racing driver Scott Coulter surpassed $40 million in career earnings on Friday (Jun. 21).
Needing just over $2,500 to get there, he took a big step towards the milestone with a place finish behind Highland Hot Sauce in the third. He then finished fourth with Happy Looker in the seventh, earning just enough to eclipse $40 million.
Coulter began driving in 1995, earning more than $3 million and winning more than 400 races in his best season in the early 2010s. He has won 5,925 of his 42,896 races and has earned $40,001,005. This year, the Brantford-based driver is 80-for-501, a strike rate of 16 per cent. He topped the standings for the Flamboro Downs winter meet.
Racing will resume at Grand River Raceway on Monday, Jun. 24 at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
