Spoiled Beauty (Captaintreacherous), out of Hall of Fame broodmare Precious Beauty, won her career harness racing debut on Thursday (Jul. 4) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The filly, coming off a 1:56.4 qualifying win, popped the pocket on Hp Top Modele (Sylvain Filion) after the quarter in :29.1 and settled onto the lead to the half in :59.2.
She was clear by two lengths for Doug McNair at three-quarters in 1:28.2 and shifted into top gear coming down the stretch, pulling well clear and winding down late to a three-length victory in 1:56.4.
Gooseberry (Jody Jamieson) was second-best, and Hp Top Modele was third.

Spoiled Beauty, bred and owned by James Avritt Sr. of Lebanon, is the 14th foal of Precious Beauty, whose offspring have earned a combined $3.6 million. The fillyās half-siblings include Sportswriter, Precocious Beauty, and Prescient Beauty. Gregg McNair trains Spoiled Beauty, who won her second qualifier Jun. 21.
Team McNair struck again with Valentine Blue Chip (Muscle Mass), who remained unbeaten on the season. The sophomore filly, an Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots winner on Jun. 20, scored by a length in 1:55.2. She is now five-for-six lifetime with four straight wins to begin 2024. She has earned $47,040 for Anthony Timmins of Birmingham (GB).

Doug and Gregg McNair also won the first race with Scintillating Tom (Alarm Detector, 1:53.1).
Racing will continue at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday, Jul. 5 at 7:10 p.m. EDT with the first two-year-old Ontario Sires Stakes contests of the season. The two-year-old pacing males will compete in two divisions worth $95,000 each.
