Dontpokethedragon (Custard The Dragon) avenged his prior narrow loss in the Flamboro Downs Preferred with a pocket-riding harness racing victory in the track’s top class on Wednesday (Oct. 4).

Travis Cullen pushed Dontpokethedragon out from post one and held the lead to the quarter in :26.2 before Lawless Shadow (Tyler Moore) completed his march to take over. The latter hit the half in :54.2 with pressure from Hunter Hill (Darryl Thiessen), and the first-up opponent sustained his bid to three-quarters in 1:22.4.
Dontpokethedragon angled to the outside on the far turn, kicking off a final=quarter battle. Lawless Shadow entered the stretch first and held off Dontpokethedragon’s charge as long as he could, but the pocket-sitter fired late and got up by a half-length to score in 1:52.1.
Lawless Shadow held second. Rock And Twist (Austin Sorrie) finished third, a length-and-three-quarters back of the winner.
