Ecurie D Dk (Infinitif) bounced back from his International Trot loss with a dominant victory in the $810,000 Breeders Crown Open Trot to give harness racing driver Dexter Dunn his third Breeders Crown win of the evening (Oct. 29) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Jujubee (Andrew McCarthy) gave chase from the pocket, but he was no match. Ecurie D Dk sailed through the finish ahead by three-lengths in 1:51, equalling the stakes record.
Jujubee crossed the line second but broke stride, leading to his disqualification back to fourth. Amigo Volo (Todd McCarthy) moved up from third to place, and Its Academic inherited show.
ECURIE D DK REPLAYĀ
It was Ecurie D Dk’s second win of the year – he previously won the Cutler Memorial, finished third in the Crawford Farms, and was second in both the Cashman Memorial and Maple Leaf Trot. Ake Svanstedt trains the stallion and usually drives but gave up the reins on this occasion. He co-owns him with the Delray Beach-based Marko Kreivi Stables and Suleyman Yuksel Stables. The French-bred horse’s record now reads 19 wins from 29 outings and $1,495,430 in earnings. He previously raced in Europe before moving to North America in 2021.
He tied the stakes record set by both Market Share (2013) and Commander Crowe (2014).
