Gias Surreal (So Surreal) returned to Flamboro Downs and captured another Preferred on Thursday (Dec. 21), making it two wins in two starts at the harness racing track.
She put them all behind her from the pylon post, reaching the quarter in a meagre :29.1. In rein to Tyler Moore, she faced no challengers through middle splits of :58.3 and 1:27.1, and she out-sprinted her chasing rivals to the line to score in 1:55.2. In The Mood (J. Bradley Harris) snagged second off a pocket ride, narrowly holding off Shoot The Whiskey (Jason Ryan).
GIAS SURREAL REPLAY
The win was Gias Surrealās 35th lifetime in 142 starts, and she moved closer seven digits in earnings. The mare, who raced on the Grand Circuit earlier this season, has raced at various levels in Ontario since May. The Donald Lindsey trainee won her Flamboro Debut on Nov. 30 in the Preferred and took show finishes in two Mohawk conditioned races before the Thursday win. The seven-year-old, owned by James Graham of Hamburg, Edward Peron of Syracuse, and Lee Winters of Medina, has now earned $972,915 lifetime.
Travis Henry was the nightās top driver with four wins.
Flamboro Downs is slated to resume racing on Saturday, Dec. 23 at 6:35 p.m. EST.
