Grey Horizon (Vertical Horizon) scored his biggest harness racing career victory in the $90,000 Moore’s Mile Breeders’ Stake for three-year-old males on Saturday (Jun. 15) at Century Downs.
Brandon Campbell, aiming for his sixth win on the card, set the colt up with a pocket trip. He followed Rum N Custard (Kelly Hoerdt) through the mile until he pulled out on the final turn and exploded away from the field. Grey Horizon quickly stepped around Rum N Custard and rolled clear by nine lengths in a 1:53.2 romp. Rum N Custard was a clear second-best. Nevada Dragon (Phil Giesbrecht) finished third.

The came with a new career mark for Grey Horizon, who is now seven-for-13 lifetime with $144,550 in earnings. He has won two of five starts this year, losing via disqualification to second in his elimination. Campbell trains the colt, a winner of multiple stakes at two, for Jodi Loftus, Raymond Henry, and George Rogers.
In the sister stake, the $118,000 Shirley McClellan Breeders’ Stake for sophomore fillies, Byby Baby Byby (Vertical Horizon, Mike Hennessy) came out of the pocket in the stretch and vaulted past odds-on favourite Outlawguns N Roses (Dave Kelly) to win in 1:54.1 by a length. Foothills Magic (Giesbrecht) completed the triactor, five lengths further back in third.
BYBY BABY BYBY REPLAY
It was Byby Baby Byby’s first tally of the season in four starts for trainer Rodney Hennessy. The homebred filly won the Alberta Sires Stakes Super Final at two for owners Bryan Brook and Diane Hennessy. She has earned $148,160 and has won five times in 11 lifetime outings.
Among Campbell’s six victories was the Fillies and Mares Preferred with Stash The Cookies (Sunfire Blue Chip). The eight-year-old mare went wire-to-wire in 1:55.4 for her second win in three races this year. John Chappell trains her for Derek Gilbert.
