Hes Sporty (Sportswriter) repeated in the Ontario-sired Autumn Series for two- and three-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Wednesday (Oct. 18) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
Colin Kelly orchestrated a perfect trip for the sophomore to get him home a winner in 1:59.3. Matteo (Tyler Borth) rallied after an early break and went from last-to-second. Inked In Pink (Scott Wray) finished third.
HES SPORTY REPLAY
Hes Sporty is now three-for-six with $15,375 in earnings and has not missed the board yet this year. Jim Flynn trains the gelding, whom he co-owns and co-bred with Doreen Flynn.
Murrays Watching (Hes Watching, Travis Cullen) captured the second division of the leg in 1:59.4. He was a length-and-a-half clear of first-leg winner Dows Up (Daniel Clements), who was disqualified to third behind Mason Street (Austin Sorrie) for interference with that rival.
MURRAYS WATCHING REPLAY
Robert Don Fellows trains Murrays Watching, a freshman colt, for M&S Racing Stable and Yolanda Fellows. The colt has won twice and earned $17,684 in 11 starts to date. The 1:59.4 clocking tied her career-best time.
Guest racecaller Ghislain Paquet, the voice of the Circuit rƩgional des courses de chevaux du QuƩbec, was on hand to announce races six through 10 on the program.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District is set to resume racing with more Autumn Series action on Friday, Oct. 21. The final for two- and three-year-old fillies will kick off the card at 4:50 p.m. EDT.
