CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Maritime Breeders Association is proud to present an afternoon of championship racing Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, featuring the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders Stakes for two and three-year-old pacers.

The city track has an 11-dash harness racing program beginning at 12:30 P.M., which also features the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series Final, presented by Standardbred Canada, in the race 11 finale.

This year’s Maritime Breeders events are headlined by Home Hardware’s continued sponsorship support, represented by Peter Smith of Metro Home Building Centre and Arnold Hagen of High Tide Home Hardware Building Centre. Both longtime horsemen have deep roots in Island harness racing and remain heavily invested in the local breeding and racing industry.

“I would like to thank both gentlemen and their businesses for sponsoring the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders Stake. We value their partnership and are pleased to have them on-board,” cites Bruce Wood, the Chair of the Maritime Breeders Association which represents the stallion owners in the Maritime provinces.

The program opens with the $36,200 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders for two-year-old pacing fillies in race 1. Beach Jewels (To be driven by Marc Campbell) will be the one to beat from post 7 from the Kevin MacLean barn for owner Reg MacPherson. The Arthur Blue Chip filly is a three-time winner this season with over $50,000 in earnings.

Two-year-old pacing fillies go in race 5 for a $36,200 purse, with Windemere Skye pegged as the 5-2 morning line favourite as she seeks to cap off her perfect season with an 11-for-11 record at stake. The daughter of Somewhere Fancy will have Marc Campbell in the seat for trainer Earl Watts and owners Windemere Farms and Matt Burke.

The $32,850 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders three-year-old pacing colt division lines up in race 4, featuring Malevolent as the 5-2 choice with Paul Langille driving for owners Debbie Francis and Rosanne Langille as he sets his sights on $200,000 in career earnings.

The $32,850 three-year-old pacing colt division in race 8 has the top billing belonging to Bentley (Marc Campbell) for trainer John Clarey and owner Mike Clarey.

The $25,200 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders two-year-old pacing colt dash in race 2 has Zero Two Sixty (David Dowling) slated on top for trainer Sifroi Melanson and the Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B. The pacer is a six-timer winner in 2025.

The $25,200 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders two-year-old pacing colt division in race 6 sees Woodmere Kobe as the 5-2 favourite for trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault and owners Peter Smith and Gerald Morrissey.

Two-year-old pacing colts also battle in race 9 for $25,200, where Sporty Anthony is the 5-2 favourite with Ken Murphy steering for owner-trainer Jason Biggar and co-owner Jason Williams. The Somewhere Fancy colt was crowned Atlantic Sires Stakes champion in his last outing with a 1:55.4 win in the Atlantic Breeder’s Crown.

The $23,850 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders three-year-old pacing filly division in race 3, with Badgirl Bridgette listed as the 5-2 favourite, has Jason Hughes in the bike for owner-trainer William Lanigan of Cambridge. The Stonebridge Terror lass has 10 wins this season and only missed the winner’s circle once in stakes action in 2025.

The second three-year-old pacing filly division goes in race 7 for a $23,850 purse, with Elm Grove Talia favoured at 5-2. The daughter of Stonebridge Terror is handled by David Dowling for owners Shane Baglole, Sam Walsh, Frank Balcom and Kingsley Walsh. CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A special Sunday afternoon program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park will showcase a star-studded Preferred pace as part of an action-packed card beginning at 12:30 P.M.

The featured Preferred pace in race 11 carries a purse of $5,100.

Bee Two Bee has been one of the most consistent campaigners in the region this season and leaves from post 3 for driver Jason Hughes and trainer Ashley Gamester. The Sunshine Beach pacer has banked over $79,000 in 2025 for owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge.

Twin B Tuffenuff is the 5-2 morning line choice from post 2 as he looks to rebound for trainer Ron Matheson and driver Gilles Barrieau. He has amassed over $40,000 in seasonal earnings and remained a fixture in Invitational company throughout the summer. House Edge Hanover (Ken Murphy) starts from post 4 for trainer Matheson, while Nothing Bugs Me (Corey MacPherson) leaves from the rail after a string of solid efforts for trainer Vaughan Doyle. Wind Blown (Paul Langille) rounds out the compact but powerful field from post 5 from the Phil Sizer barn.

The Post Time Picks like Bee Two Bee to get it all.
“Bee Two Bee is winding down an incredible summer that included a win in the Governor’s Plate consolation. He also won the Richard Campbell Memorial for the third consecutive year. He finished third in the Gold Cup and Saucer and picked up a second in the Premier’s Cup final. He rallied to win the Preferred last week, so he could go back-to-back.”

Earlier on the program, races 5 and 7 are sponsored by The Joyriders 2025.

In race 5, Freight Air will line up from post 2 as the top selection for trainer-driver Neil Bambrick and owner Alex MacPhee of Clyde River. He takes on six foes including Neptune Seelster (Merner) and Elroy Shiner (Brady Sweet).

In race 7, No Mo Fear will start from post 2 for trainer Paul Doyle and driver Adam Merner as the favourite over Five Star Dragon (MacPherson) and Geishas Treasure (Hughes).
