Horse Racing New Brunswick will be the host of the province’s biggest race card of the 2022 harness racing campaign on Saturday (Sep. 3) with a number of races that have been a tradition in New Brunswick.
Saturday will see another stop on the Maritime free-for-all circuit as the $8,000 Rod Goguen Memorial will be staged. Time To Dance captured last year’s event, just missing the track record as he scored in 1:53.1 for Marc Campbell.
The Maritimer, one of the most prestigious three-year-old filly events in the Maritimes, will also go on Saturday along with the coveted Milton Downey Memorial stake for two-year-old colts and fillies.
Second leg of the Standardbred Canada mares series will be contested as part of the marquee program which is held in conjunction with the Atlantic National Exhibition which returns after a two-year hiatus.
Horsemen and women are reminded that the box closes for entries at 10:00 A.M this Wednesday and there will also be a pot-luck for local and visiting horse people on the backstretch following Saturday’ card scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
