Ontario star sold for $700k

Ontario-based harness racing standout and 2021 O’Brien Award finalist Stonebridge Helios fetched a six-figure sale price on Friday (June 24).

Listed for sale on OnGait to dissolve the partnership of owners, Stonebridge Helios sold for $700,000 U.S. to part-owner John Fleischman of Ottawa, Ont.

Previously owned by Fleischman, trainer John Pentland and breeder Angie Stiller, Stonebridge Helios (Sunshine Beach-Ken Doll J) never missed the board as a freshman, banking $295,710 in just seven starts with a 4-2-1 summary. He was 2-0-1 in four sophomore starts, taking his mark of 1:50.3 in the SBOA Final one month ago. In his most recent start, he made a break at the start of his 2022 Pepsi North America Cup elim and finished a distanced ninth for his first off-the-board finish.
