MILTON, September 1, 2023 – Stockade Seelster (State Treasurer) won the fifth harness racing contest tonight (Sep. 1) at Woodbine Mohawk Park, a $158,100 Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Gold division for three-year-old pacing colts & geldings.
Jody Jamieson kept Stockade Seelster off the pace set by leader Moment Is Here (All Bets Off) and driver James MacDonald, through fractions 26.1, 53.2, and 1:21.
In the backstretch, Stockade Seelster overtook Moment Is Here, and Macs Delight (Bettors Delight) driven by Jonathan Drury, challenged Moment Is Here in the battle for second.
Stockade Seelster crossed the wire first in a time of 1:48.4 to set a new career best.
“He always does nothing but impress,” said Jamieson. “I just kind of took my time getting there.”

Stockade Seelster is a fourteen-time winner and has made $1,334,391 over the course of his career for owners Sally MacDonald and Paul MacDonald.
He has also collected $215,721 in OSS earnings this year.
The State Treasurer colt is trained by Dr. Ian Moore and paid $3.10 for the win.
“He just digs back in and goes, he’s an awesome horse,” said Jamieson.
Runner-up Macs Delight is trained by Shawn Steacy, and his second-place finish doubled his OSS earnings this year to $57,613 for owner John Cancelliere.
The third-place finisher was favourite Moment Is Here, trained by Robert McIntosh.
He has collected over $100,000 in OSS earnings this year for co-owners Robert McIntosh Stables Inc, Al McIntosh Holdings Inc, Frank Baldachino, and Mardon Stables.
In race three, Mist Amber (Betterthancheddar) won the first of two $101,300 Gold divisions for three-year-old pacing fillies.
Sylvain Filion and Mist Amber sat off the pace set by One Last Wish (Bettors Delight) and eventually found room to fly home and win as they were four across at the line in a time of 1:50.3.
For her first OSS win, Mist Amber collected $50,650 in earnings for owner John Pentland.
Her Gold win paid $34.80.

Lady Get Lucky (Hes Watching) driven by Trevor Henry finished in second while favourite One Last Wish piloted by Paul MacDonell rounded out the podium.
The second division of the night for three-year-old pacing fillies was race eight on the card, and Savethelastdance (Bettors Delight) driven by James MacDonald came away with the win crossing the wire at 1:51.3.
The filly has made $232,534 over the course of her career for owner Millar Farms.
Ima Doll (Control The Moment) and driver Tyler Borth came in second and Talk Curdy To Me (Betterthancheddar) driven by Louis-Philippe Roy finished in third.
