CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – With an open-length gate to wire harness racing victory, Saulsbrook Ian (Betterthancheddar) was grinning for his picture in the featured $3,000 Clarence Farm Services Ltd., pace Friday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Corey MacPherson handled the driving chores for trainer Jamie Smith and owner Red Oak Stables of Charlottetown. Time of the mile was 1:55 over a track rated two-seconds off with Avatar J (Driven by David Dowling) second ahead of Revenant (Adam Merner). The victory was number eight of the season from just 10 seasonal tries.

The Old Home Week program featured a quartet of memorial races with Leavin Bruises running away with the race 4 Pat Murphy Memorial in 1:57.3 for driver Jason Hughes, trainer Wade Myers and owners Basil Hunter and Douglas Molyneaux.

The Race 5 Bob Connelly Memorial has Slate N double up trainer Myers, this time with Dowling in the seat for owner Sandy Myers in a 1:59.2 victory.
