CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A quality group of aged harness racing pacing mares will take to the track in the Thursday evening (Oct. 12) featured pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has an 11-dash presentation beginning at 6 P.M. with the conditioned foes coming together for race 10 with $2,700 on the line.
Elm Grove Mistress (Articulator) has a two-race win streak on the line from post 5 with David Dowling in the bike for conditioner Jennifer Doyle and owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. She boasts 32 lifetime victories from 123 starts.
Sugar Bowl gets a $24,000 claiming tag for the dash as the morning line favourite from post 6 for trainer-driver Jason Hughes after racing the Preferred Mares right down her program page. Redlandbethanyjean is another top contender with post 3 for the team of driver Brodie MacPhee and trainer Tom Weatherbie.
Also in the featured field are Woodmere Rollily (To be driven by Adam Merner), Filly Forty Seven (Marc Campbell), You Aint Dolly (Kenny Arsenault) and Outrageous Style (Gilles Barrieau).
The Post Time Picks like Sugar Bowl on top.
”Sugar Bowl was in against the best mares in the region and really not that far way. Slides down the class ladder and Hughes will be pressing the pace so she could return to her winning ways.”
The program also has a pair of $3,200 All Star Cresting Prospect Trot Series divisions in races 2 and 4.
Race 2 will see the Jamie Whalen owned Gettin Lit favoured with rail control for trainer-driver Mike McGuigan. The son of EL Rocket is selected to win over Gettin Rocked (Myles Heffernan Sr.) and Mile Hill Gus (Corey MacPherson).
Howmac Swanky (Muscle Mass) is the top choice in the other split in race 4 also for trainer-driver McGuigan. The colt is owned by Howmac Farms Ltd., and Brian Foley. Other top entries are Mile Hill Aggie (Campbell) and Camco Laraido (Ken Murphy).
Play at the track or from home through HPIBET.COM. For the Race Day broadcast, race programs and more go to the new player portal at Redshores.ca.
