CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Peach Pie Will Do mowed down all the divisional heavy weights on his way to the winner’s circle in Atlantic Sires Stakes harness racing action Tuesday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Brodie MacPhee was in the bike as the Chris MacKay trained trotter reached up in the final strides to win his $10,520 Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old trot division in 2:00.2 at 18-1 odds over Dusty Lane Milo (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) and A Little Go Go (Marc Campbell). The winning son of Tad The Stud is owned by Allard Racing Inc., Jordan MacKay, Andrew Brown and Shirley Symes.
Dusty Lane Apollo scored in the other three-year-old trot division in 2:04.3 with Kenny Arsenault driving for trainer Danny MacDonald and the But Here We Are Now stable of Charlottetown.
The Clare MacDonald stable had a clean sweep of the two-year-old trot divisions with Cadillac giving a maiden score for the trainer-driver in 2:04.3 in the first $10,260 split. MacDonald shares ownership with Wayne Burley of Truro, N.S.
Up Helly Aa had a win in the other division for trainer MacDonald and driver Ken MacDonald for owner Riley Farms Ltd., of Summerside.
