Sizzlen Hot Herbie (Here Comes Herbie) left his Preferred Handicap harness racing rivals behind in the last quarter for a dominant victory at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Nov. 30).
Sole proprietor Natasha Day sent the gelding flying out of post seven and was rewarded with a pocket spot going into the first turn. Tymal Houdini (Colin Kelly) led to the quarter in :28.3 and cameĀ under attack as Day re-activated Sizzlen Hot Herbie while approaching the half in :59.3.
Sizzlen Hot Herbie rolled by the pacesetter down the backside and began to open up at three-quarters in 1:29.1. The gelding soared higher as he turned into the stretch and flew eight-and-a-quarter lengths clear for a romp in 1:59.
Lass Shot (Garrett Rooney) held off Massive Profit (Scott Coulter) for third.
