Beach Moment (Control The Moment) avenged her photo-finish loss last week with a close harness racing victory in the Fillies and Mares Preferred Handicap at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday (Sep. 21).
Travis Henry pulled the mare back into the three-hole after a quick start from post six and rode the pylons through :27.4 and :57.2 first-half fractions.
She went on the attack on the backside and rolled alongside Saulsbrook Jessie (Brett MacDonald) at three-quarters in 1:26.2. Saulsbrook Jessie pulled a length back on the final turn, but Beach Moment found more pace and caught the pacesetter at the line in 1:55.2.
Saulsbrook Jessie lost the photo by a head. Casimir Swamp Girl (Colin Kelly) finished second after a pocket trip.
