Tijuana Seelster (Muscle Mass) tallied another victory in her fruitful 2023 harness racing campaign, her eighth in her past nine starts, at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday (Aug. 9).
The mare made her move for Colin Kelly in the third panel with a brush from third past leader Stormont Mabel (Travis Cullen), who broke stride. Tijuana Seelster turned for homeĀ onĀ top and made hit home with three-quarters-of-a-length to spare over Delcrest Brent (Steve Hudon). Fox Valley Ontario (Garrett Rooney) finished third.

Tijuana Seelster, trained by Jacob Roberts, has won 11 of her 23 starts this year. She was on a six-race winning streak before breaking before the start on Jul. 20. All but two of her career victories came this season, and show is now 13-for-39 lifetime with $84,469 in earnings. Triple S Equine of Newton owns the four-year-old.
Also on the card, Dollar Maker (International Moni) won the two-year-old contest to break her maiden in 2:01.3. She drew off down the stretch to score by three-and-three-quarter lengths for trainer Desiree Jones. The rookie filly was a $28,000 Lexington Select purchase by Gino Toscani of Mount Hope.
