Time To Dance (A Rocknoll Dance) added a Kelti Burnett Memorial victory to his already-impressive harness racing resume at Woodstock on Friday (Aug. 5).
The six-year-old gelding was on top at every call and crossed the line two-and-three-quarter lengths clear in 1:55.3. Beachin Lindy (Stephen Charlton) finished second, a length clear of American Risk (Dale Spence) in third.
Time To Dance, trained and driven by Marc Campbell, is now five-for-nine this season. The six-year-old gelding has won 37 of his 80 career starts – including the Gold Cup and Saucer – and has earned $187,399. Brent Campbell of Charlottetown and Matthew McDonald of Edwards own the gelding.
The Kelti Burnett Memorial honours Kelti Burnett, a beloved champion showjumper from Woodstock who passed away in 2009 at the age of 16.
Also on the card, Nannie Bernice (Artspeak) and Brookdale Seb (Shadow Play) took the N.B. Breeders stake second leg for two-year-old pacing fillies and colts, respectively. The former, driven by John Davidson for owner/breeder/trainer Janice Hubbard, won by 11-and-a-quarter lengths in 2:02 to improve her record to two-for-four. Brookdale Seb was equally impressive in the male split, scoring by 12-and-a-quarter in 2:03.2 for trainer/driver Bernard McCallum and owners Douglas E. and Douglas R. Polley.
Freddie (Majestic Son, 1:59.3, Marc Campbell) and Kcs Starlite (Source Of Pride, 1:58.4, Stephen Trites) won the John H. Davis and Clayton & Shirley Dickenson Memorials, respectively.
