CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Twin B Tuffenuff (Rock N Roll Heaven) has rail control and the honour of being named morning line harness racing favourite in the Saturday evening top event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 13-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M.
Twin B Tuffenuff is the favourite in the race 12 $4,000 Preferred pace with Gilles Barrieau back aboard the Ron Matheson trainee for owner Pat Morris of Charlottetown. The stallion was second in the $8,500 Cecil Ladner Memorial last week to Roll Em, who is absent from competition this week. Twin B Tuffenuff will look for his fifth win of the season.
Saulsbrook Ian (Betterthancheddar) will loom the danger from post 2 as he returns to the East Coast and is back in the Jamie Smith stable for owners Red Oak Stables of Charlottetown. The four-year-old had been competing at Woodbine Mohawk Park in Ontario for trainer Rob Fellows where he was second on June 10 while being race timed in 1:52. The speedy pacer was a 12-time winner from 18 starts in 2023.
Island Beach Boy has been sharp in 2024 with two wins and a second this season, with his other start a fourth-place finish in the Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational. Brodie MacPhee drives from the Tom Weatherbie barn with post 3.
Ken Murphy gets the call on All Bets On Tex with post 4 as regular driver Adam Merner is in Nova Scotia for stakes competition on Saturday. Jeff Lilley trains the 13-time winner.
Middleton Terror and trainer-driver David Dowling leave from post 5 with three wins and two seconds in his last six starts.
Completing the field is post 6 starter Spectrum Seelster from the Jennifer Doyle barn. Damian MacLellan gets the call to drive the eight-year-old son of Mach Three.
The Post Time Picks like Twin B Tuffenuff from post 1.
“Twin B Tuffenuff dodges Roll Em this week and has the coveted rail position. He was a winner from the rail three starts back when he led from start to finish so expect a same trip and result tonight.”
