Bonaparte Boss breaks record in 2023 Menesek DIJ

Bonaparte Boss (6g Napoleon-Nikita-Crown Sweep) overcame a 60 meter handicap to win the featured Menesek DIJ (2,850,000Huf purse, 3160 meters distance handicap) timed in 1.18.4kr, a new stake record.

Veljko Mazsity trained and teamed the winner for owner Hikco to record his fifth 2023 win in 10 starts and 17^th career victory in 40 appearances. He was off as the 1.6/1 odds favorite and defeated 4/1 Ejjeli Holgy (3f Maximus Lindy-Night Lady-Tony Oaks) driven by Imre Fazekas for Prolongo III and trainer Bernadett Balogh. The 9.9/1 Catania R (5g One Too Many-Campala RAL-Toss Out) was third overcoming a 60 meter handicap driven by trainer Goran Zolnaji.

On the undercard was the Laszlo Torok Memorial (600,000Huf purse, 1960 meters distance handicap) and 3.1/1 odds veteran Reckless (13m Ready Cash-Haver-Supergill) rallied to win in 1.18.4kr. Branko Skenderovic teamed the Swedish veteran for trainer Zoltan Ozvar. Reckless now has career earnings in euros of 696,853€ as he won 16 times in 93 starts in SWE and took a speed record of 1.10.4kr. Second this day was 1.9/1 Zlatan LIW (8g Miguel Duhamel-Jeanne Sun-Grundy’s Ebony) for driver Arpad Lakatos and trainer Attila Budai. Third was 18.2/1 odds and 20 meter handicapped Villam Ville (9g Beissinger Hanover-Izaville-Endless Sands) for trainer/driver Goran Zolnaji.
