Gigolo Lover takes 68,000€ Prix du Medoc in nailbiter

Gigolo Lover (7g Royal Lover-Rosalie Moudaz) rallied for narrow victory in today’s Prix du Medoc (purse 68,000€, 2875 meters distance handicap, 7-10 year olds).

Off at 4.8/1 odds and handicapped 25 meters, this Nicolas Bazire teamed veteran is trained by Jean Michel Bazire to his 15th career victory in 52 starts. Timed in 1.13.6kt the winner now has 347,860€ earned for Ecurie Moureaux As, the winning owner.

Flying Brickell (8g Flash de Cosse) was second at 4.7/1 with trainer Sebastien Ernault at the lines. Faubourg (8m Magnificent Rodney) landed third, also at 4.7/1 and handicapped 25 meters, for trainer/driver Pierre Yves Verva.

The champion Etonnant (9m Timoko) returns to the track on July 29 as he will start in the Gr. II Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Enghien. The 2875 meter volt start contest also has Oracle Tile, Eric The Eel, Elie de Beaufour and Elvis du Vallon at the start.
